About this forum
Full Size Pickup Forum opened in August 2025 for people who drive a half ton and are tired of reading about one ton duallies and gooseneck hitches when they just want to know what their own door sticker means.
Half tons here means the F-150, the Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500, the Ram 1500, the Tundra and the Titan. XLT, Lariat, LT, Trail Boss, Big Horn, Laramie, SR5, whatever is on the tailgate. Work trucks and $70,000 trucks get the same answers.
It is run by Chris M., who posts as mod_chris_m. Chris spent 22 years behind the parts counter at a Chevrolet dealer in Lincoln, Nebraska, the last nine of them as parts manager, and now splits a two bay shop with his son in law doing brakes, suspension and trailer wiring. He drives a 2017 Silverado 1500 LT double cab with 141,000 miles on it and pulls a 16 foot utility trailer with a Kubota on it most weekends. He reads the contact mailbox himself and is slow about it during harvest, when half his customers are in a field.
What it costs
The server is eleven dollars a month and the domain was twelve for the year. Chris pays both. There is no advertising on any page, no affiliate code in any link, and nobody has paid for a thread or a position in a thread. If that ever changes it will say so right here before it changes anywhere else.
House rules
- Year, trim, engine, cab and box in every question. A 2021 F-150 XLT 2.7 with the 6.5 box is a different truck from a 2021 Lariat 3.5 SuperCrew with the 5.5, and the answer changes.
- Read your own door jamb sticker before you ask about payload. It is the only number that applies to your truck as it was built.
- Say what you paid. Buying reports without numbers get a note from a mod asking for them, and most people fill them in.
- No selling trucks in threads. There is no classifieds board, on purpose. Linking a public listing to make a point about price is fine.
- If you work for a dealer, a lender, an auction or a transport company, say so in your posts. People posting as owners when they are not get removed.
- Be civil. The EcoBoost people, the 5.3 people and the Hemi people all have to share this place and none of you is going to convince the others.
- Mods move posts to the right department and leave a note where the post used to be. Threads get locked rarely and with a reason written in them.
- Accounts are by email request until the spam settles down.
What this is not
Not a dealer, not a broker, not a parts counter and not the factory service manual. When somebody here hands you a torque spec or a tire pressure, check it against the label on your own truck before you trust a trailer to it.
